ATTENTION: For
the next few weeks, the best place to find up-to-date and accurate information
on Andy's concert schedule is www.myspace.com/andydavis. Wednesday, Feb 8, 2005 Note from Andy: Sunday, Oct 30, 2005 Andy Davis is the new featured artist on "Phusebox!" Phusebox.net is like an advanced Myspace. Like if MySpace had a younger brother than was better at everything than he was, it would be called Phusebox.net. Check it out! Wednesday, Oct 25, 2005 NASHVILLE CONCERT THIS FRIDAY!! OCT. 28TH--12TH AND PORTER. Andy Davis, Tyler James, and introducing John Van Deusen. Doors open at 8pm, $7. BE THERE!! Friday, Oct 21, 2005 So Texas has been fun--tonight was my last show
of this Texas run....thanks to all you guys and gals who came out to
the shows over the past couple weeks. I had a great time--hope you guys
did, too. Thanks to all the people who donated food, places to stay,
vehicles, pianos....thanks to my wheat grass support group (never ever
try a shot of wheat grass....although your immune system will jump for
joy, you will burp up the taste of yard for days.) After Rob (Blackledge)
and I split up (not from dating...), I sometimes felt stranded and lonely,
but thanks to a lot of new friends, the rest of my Texas tour was not
scary anymore. In fact, it was exciting. I think the fans in Austin get
the award for loudest singing...Waco fans get the award for best-dressed....Ft.
Worth gets the award for people who drove the furthest....Denton took
home 2 awards--one for best internet connection, and one for good sportsmanship
(for coming out to my shows 2 nights in a row). And last, but not least,
Houston (Tomball, Woodlands) gets the spirit award--for the best clapping
and participation (not based on the precision of the clapping (thank
goodness)--based on effort. Way to go.) (If you're from a city that did
not get an award, please don't feel left out. On the next Texas tour,
my producers may allow me to give out more awards, but this is all we
had time for in our broadcast. Sorry....haha) Friday, Sept 30, 2005 So apparently some people don't believe me about writing all my songs in the Bahamas--it's very true--but you didn't let me finish. There's a section of my bedroom across the sea of dirty laundry that I like to call The Bahamas. I don't clean over there much, so there is some sand (into which I like to dig my toes, while drinking a fruity drink) and sometimes it helps me think of songs to be over there. So believe me when I tell you things, people. I'm not a bad man. Also, someone has brought it to my attention that another band this year put out a record called "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb." Although I think my "...Giant Bomb" has a better ring to it, I have decided to change the title of the record. I'll keep you posted on new ideas as they come. Farewell, friends. Thursday, Sept 21, 2005 Hi friends. So just to give everyone an update,
I've been working on a lot of new songs (this is andy by the way) for
my upcoming record, which is tentatively titled, "How to Dismantle
A Giant Bomb." I'm excited about it....there's something fresh in
the title, yet still familiar for some reason. Andyway, so I've been
writing a lot....I usually go down to the Bahamas for a month or so to
write songs for a new record....I just think better with my toes in the
sand, drink in my hand... but since the weather is not cooperating (shouldn't
joke about that), I'm stuck here in my bedroom in Nashville being distracted
by moths and new ways to arrange the plugs below my desk so they don't
tangle in my feet. (SO frustrating). Well, that's all for right now--hope to see you guys at the show--if you have comments or suggestions for my new record, send them to info@andydavisonline.com because I never check that one. Or go to myspace.com/andydavis and leave some nice comments. Regardless of what you think. later my children Wednesday, Aug 3, 2005 Hello everyone--Andy here--just wanted to say hello since the website has been dormant for a little while....summer hibernation I guess. It was great seeing a bunch of you guys out at Matt Wertz's rep show here in Nashville. It was weird seeing Texas people, Chicago people, Louisiana.....good to see everybody in one place. Hopefully I'll be back in those places again this fall so you guys can save the gas money. Speaking of this fall, we're about to release a big list of the fall touring schedule, so check back in soon. I'll be doing a string of shows with Jon McLaughlin as well, so check out his site for a sneak peek. Well, that's all for now--more soon!! Wednesday, May 25, 2005 Hey guys, Jamie here---I lost some files on my computer recently and if you've joined the email list or the street team in the past couple months, I might not have your information anymore. Please write me an email at jamie@andydavisonline.com if you've signed up recently and I'll make sure we've got your info. Thanks! Saturday, April 23, 2005 Hey guys--just wanted to drop a little note from the road. The last few shows have gone great--thanks to all you guys who made me feel welcome at my first shows in Chicago, Iowa City, Eastern IL, UK, and Pittsburgh. Speaking of Pittsburgh, here are some pics from the concert--hopefully the rest of the pics from this tour will be up soon. Wednesday, April 13, 2005 Greetings and more excited greetings. I (Andy)
just wanted to drop a note--I'm spending 3 days in Nashville before I
head back out to join Matt Wertz and the boys on tour. Touring has been
going great--I've been honing my skills as a bass player, and getting
to play a few songs here and there. On this next leg of the tour I'll
be doing some consistent full opening spots, so I'm pumped about that.
If you are in the midwest or northeast, or have friends up there, get
them to check out the SHOWS page and come on out. Saturday, March 19, 2005 Thanks to everybody who came out to the Exit/In show last night--it was exciting to see people "belly-up" on the front of the stage--and it was also fun switching it up a bit with Rob Blackledge on guitar and Mat on the perc stuff. Fun, fun, fun....Barnes rocked it with the full band...if you missed the show, ask your friends about it. They probably know. Stay tuned for more info on the Wertz opener/bassist tour--you heard it right--I'll be playing bass and sporadically opening for the stud himself. So I'll try to keep everyone posted on that stuff. Wednesday, March 9, 2005 Why didn't anyone tell me I was still putting "2004" on the news entries? I thought I had some real friends out there....idiot! Wednesday, February 23, 2004 New shows just added--check em out Tuesday, February 22, 2004 Aloha--my skin is stinging a little as I write this
because I just learned to surf in Waikiki, and didn't use as much sunscreen
as I should've. Yes, you heard me--sunscreen. Actually I'm here in Honolulu
with my roomate Chad to play at a college event for the University of
Hawaii. The guys who were supposed to play this event had to cancel,
so we made a few sacrifices and changed our schedule around so we could
take their place. (for 8 days--we're really bending over backwards). Monday, January 24, 2004 So
I'm on my way down to Texas. Sorry I've been MIA for the past month
or so. Life has been hectic recently--waking up at 10AM, eating cereal,
going back to sleep until 2pm (just kidding)(not really)(ok, just a
couple times)(a week). Anyway, the good news is I'm going down to Tay-hass
and have a busy schedule. If you are in TX and are near any of the
shows, please come out! I'd love the company--ask me if I hve a
place to crash yet--I thought it would be more appropriate to "wing
it" on those lonesome Texas roads...I might pull off for a Cantina
every now and then...maybe lay out with the coyotes one night...which
reminds me, the greatest cowboy song I can think of right now comes
from one of my all-time favorite movies, "The Three Amigos." See if
this rings any bells: Monday, December 27, 2004 Hope
Christmas was great for everyone--just a quick note: If anyone missed
the video
E-card,
click to see it. Monday, December 20, 2004 Greetings
from Canada...I'm spending a few days up here at Whiistler with a big
group of peeps from Gig Harbor (Seattle suburb). I'd have to
say that my first trip out to the upper Northwest has been pretty action-packed.
I've discovered that people in Seattle must be lying to everyone about
it being the rainiest place on earth, just so they can have it to themselves.
I think it only rained about 45 minutes during the 5 days I was there.
It has definitely become one of my new favorite cities. Wednesday, November 10, 2004 NEWS:
If you would like more info about becoming a STREET TEAM REP, send
an email to jamie@andydavisonline.com with "Andy

the CDS ARE HERE. After much toil and strife, even the loss of a life
(Remember Willis), "Thinks of Her" Lp is NOW IN. Thank you
guys SO MUCH for your patience. The cds will be available this Monday
at the Exit/In show, or right now online. Tuesday, November 2, 2004 NOTE
FROM ANDY: It's election day, and I'll be honest: if I were running
for the office of "President of getting cds out on time," I would not
vote for myself. In fact, if I were the incumbent, I would impeach
myself. Yes, the album was slated to hit the shelves last Wednesday.
Yes, I
got a great deal of preorders who were expecting the cd in their hands
by now. And yes, I might have opened a secret bank account in Zurich
where I deposited all the money and plan to vacation for a year or
two. But that does not mean the cd is not on its way. (double negative)
When I talked to the factory
today,
inquiring on their whereabouts,
they proceeded to tell me a story that touched my heart. Anyway,
all that to say, the company took a few days off to grieve the
loss of their most prized employee, who gave his life to meet a deadline.
I don't tell you this story to make you sad, but to inspire you to
cherish your very lives. And to cherish your cd whenever it comes out.
Saturday, September 4, 2004 HEADLINES:
Other than about 15, cd-only, slip cover editions, "Thinks Of
Her"
is officially OUT OF PRINT. So if you have a copy of the cd, put it
in
a vault somewhere and maybe you can sell it on ebay in 20 years for
$10. Unless by then, cds have become obsolete, upon which it will be
worthless. NOTE FROM ANDY: To all you guys who came out to the Show at Rocketown, thanks for your support throughout one of the craziest nights we've had in a while. Amidst the fray of busting a kick drum head, and dealing with the distractions of a million other bands playing, you guys were singing your hearts out and making everyone feel like a big happy family (awwww). And especially to you guys who made a trek to be there...knoxville, kentucky, mississippi...(mississippi's not a town--i know)--to you, in the event of tragic death, i will donate my organs.
